My name is Rami. In the past, I’ve made work about where cultures cross paths, how differences, instead of dividing us, can open into something beautiful when we choose to meet there. I’ve always felt a pull toward understanding and presenting the human condition beyond borders and identities.
Then came AI.
New technology hasn’t always brought people closer. The printing press spread ideas, but also propaganda. Radio carried voices into homes, but also fueled war. Every medium has connected as much as it has divided.
Now we are at a point where things can swing to extremes, fast. I have never lived through a shift that feels this open-ended. So am I qualified to speak? Do I know enough to ask good questions?
Maybe not. But I care about how humans live. And I have many questions. Some are being asked loudly, others barely at all. I believe this is the right time to ask them. So this is my way of claiming a small space, not as an authority, but as a young participant. To ask, to try things out, and to find community in the process.
Wittgenstein once wrote, “I see that it has not changed; and yet I see it differently.” I wonder if together we can redefine the act of looking with topics like artificial intelligence and technology. If we can shape a path toward closeness and equity by how we see first, then through action, and finally through change.
